Our Story

Keith and I met on a gorgeous early summer evening in June. June 12, 2009 to be exact. I've often said that it was fate that we were even in the same place at the same time. We never would have met had it not been for a Brad Paisley concert.

My sister had a last minute ticket. Would I please go with her? I happen to love country music, so of course I said yes.

His friend had a last minute ticket since his girlfriend had gone out of town. Did Keith want to go and take her ticket? Their two mutual friends also had tickets -- four of them -- and convinced Keith and the friend to sell their two tickets on the lawn, and take the two extra seats.

They were the foursome sitting in the seats next to my sister and I. Told you it was fate. :)

After the concert the six of us hung out in the parking lot, drinking beers and grilling food. Towards the end of the night, he came up to me and handed me his phone, open to a blank contact screen. (He claims he didn't know how to spell my name, I'm not sure he even remembered it!) Of course I added my contact info.

He texted me that night driving home asking me out. We had our first date June 22, 2009 and were together from that moment on.

In July 2010, we moved in together to the condo he had purchased a few months after we started dating.

Memorial Day weekend 2011, we got engaged. It was May 29. We had rented a beach house on Cape Cod with two couple friends. After a morning walking around town and sight seeing and shopping, we came back to the house for lunch. Keith and I decided to take Gunner for a walk on the beach, and at one point he called out for Gunner who was running ahead. Gunner and I both turned around, and he was down on one knee in the sand.

We originally planned our wedding for July 14, 2012. But once again, God had other plans. Keith had multiple surgeries in early 2012, and a final one was scheduled in June. There wasn't enough time for him to recover from the surgery in time for the wedding. So, seven weeks before our wedding date we had to push our date back. We were so incredibly fortunate that all our vendors were available on our new date. We were married September 1, 2012 on the most gorgeous late-summer day.

Now we are settling into married life, savoring this time before we are blessed with babies.
